You may be faced with a job offer or advancement and are unsure whether you should accept it or not. You may be in a situation where the offer is a less than desirable offer and you may want to weigh the pros and cons of accepting the offer. If the offer requires you to make a big move and it will disrupt your family then you should decide if it is worth it.
There are some common reasons that people will turn down a job offer. If you are offered a job that gives you a bigger title and more work to do but comes with little or no compensating then you might turn it down. You may even get a job offer from another company that is a higher position and greater salary but you find out the company is on shaky ground or that the people who are in charge are difficult to work with.
It is important to understand that you need to do what is good for you and your family, however any job offer that you reject from another company will burn your bridge with any future offers. The hiring manager may have spent a lot of time deciding you are a great fit for the position and they will have to start there process all over again.
Make sure that if you are going to decline any job offer you have thought it out and talked with your family about it. Sometimes a job may not seem very attractive at first but may have some great benefits later down the road.
